It just occurred to me that I need to tell you that beyond reading and practices, there is another thing to do (which cannot be substituted) as Jamb comes knocking.
Reading is good! Practice is great, but the absence of a good mental condition may cost you a lot. You can’t afford to be emotionally down, stressed out or even bodily sick during the exam.
By now, I know you will begin to wonder what I mean by mental preparation and how to stay prepared. Personally, these tips I am about to share are what I have proven over the years and I consider it an essential ingredients of living. If you don’t get it now, you may have to learn it later in life. Here are the tips…..

Don’t be Afraid
Admission exams like Jamb may generally appear to be scary but, you have to be courageous. When you see people go like erhm..erh…erhm in the exam hall, fear is taking its toll on them. This is because, fear easily makes you forget what you even know.
Although it may be your second sitting for Jamb or even the third. I don’t think it is enough reason to start damaging your mind about “what if I fail, maybe I will fail” kind of thoughts (considering its effect on your psychology)
Make time for Adequate sleep
Now, I will talk about something you know but probably don’t consider really important. You see, some of the most outstanding exam performances I ever had, came when I had adequate sleep before the exam. And that is no lie at all.
Even If you have read the whole syllabus with sleepless nights, your delivery won’t be as effective as you so desired. Why? Simple! Because your brain cells are not relaxed, some unlucky ones may even develop headache or nausea feelings in the exam. So after all your reading and practice, ensure you sleep well, 7 hours I think is okay!
Eat and stay healthy
Good food is also an essential to passing preparing for exams, Jamb too of course. Funnily that’s the truth. As a matter of fact, I read that “you burn more calories reading than you do when washing your clothes”.
If you need to take yoghurt or soft drink, go ahead! Eating fruits and drinking water is significant. The benefits are enormous, just trust me. They just keep your mind sharp. Don’t worry, you won’t fall sick – just eat well, stay healthy and if you have drugs to use, take them!
Shun distractions
This is not to say you should be carrying books all about. No, it is rather telling you to cut down on the time spent on movies and other time consuming activities. “Zee world” lovers, “arsenal and Man U fans” make this important sacrifice. All thanks to tech, you can always watch a repeat or an highlight after your exam.
Just as the last few days are approaching, take your formula books, jotting notes and memorize them. Let your brain think chemistry and not Tinsel. Get into a group discussion if you feel bored of individual readings. After all, we also need others to succeed.

I hope I have helped you in my little way. Anyway, I intentionally left out all the commonly regurgitated tips you find elsewhere that is usually less than 10% practical. Give your best in the academic and mental preparation for this 2020 Jamb examination. Be motivated!
And don’t forget to read and take practice test on www.tryjambcbt.com and discuss related matters on the forum. We love to hear your comments and questions. See you at the very top!
Goodluck and much love from TryjambCBT !
