Welcome to TryJambCBT ("we", "our", "us"). We operate tryjambcbt.com and related services (the "Platform"), a free JAMB UTME CBT practice platform for Nigerian students.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your data. By registering or using TryJambCBT, you agree to the terms of this policy.

1 Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you:

• Register an account — first name, last name, email address, phone number, state of residence, JAMB subject choices, and your chosen password.
• Make a payment — transaction references and subscription records. We do not store card numbers — payments are processed by 1App.
• Take a practice test — your test scores, subject performance, number of correct/wrong/unattempted answers, and test timestamps.
• Submit feedback or testimony — the content of your message and your name.
• Contact our support team — the content of your message.

We also collect certain information automatically when you use the Platform:

• Your IP address and browser/device type (for security and fraud prevention)
• Pages visited and features used (for improving the Platform)
• Session information (to keep you logged in)

2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your student account
• Deliver practice tests, score tracking, and study materials
• Process subscription payments and issue receipts
• Send you account notifications (e.g. subscription renewal reminders)
• Respond to your support requests
• Display your performance on the platform leaderboard (first name + surname initial only)
• Credit referral earnings to your wallet when your referred contacts subscribe
• Send occasional promotional emails about TryJambCBT features (you can opt out)
• Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
• Comply with legal obligations

3 Referral & Earnings Program

TryJambCBT operates a referral program that allows students and registered BPN agents to earn money by referring new subscribers.

• Your unique referral code is linked to your account and stored in our database.
• When someone registers using your referral link, we record that association to credit your earnings.
• Your referral earnings balance is visible only to you and authorised TryJambCBT staff.
• To process withdrawals, BPN agents must provide their 1App phone number and registered name. This information is used solely to process the transfer.

4 Payment Information

Subscription payments on TryJambCBT are processed through 1App (oneappgo.com). When you make a payment:

• You are redirected to or interact with 1App's secure payment interface.
• TryJambCBT does not store your card number, CVV, or bank account details.
• We receive a payment reference and confirmation status from 1App, which we use to activate your subscription.
• Payment records (amounts, dates, references) are kept for accounting and dispute resolution purposes.

5 How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share it only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use 1App for payment processing and email delivery services for transactional emails. These providers access only the data necessary to provide their services.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of TryJambCBT, our users, or the public.
• Business transfer: If TryJambCBT is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change.
• With your consent: We may share information for purposes you have explicitly agreed to.

6 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secured servers hosted in Nigeria. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted password storage (bcrypt hashing — we cannot see your password)
• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Prepared statements to protect against SQL injection
• Session-based authentication with secure login controls
• Rate limiting on login attempts

Despite our best efforts, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your TryJambCBT account.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your data is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted within 7 working days.

7 Cookies

TryJambCBT uses cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep you logged in during your session
• Remember your preferences
• Understand how the Platform is used (page visits, features clicked)

We use session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain for a set period to keep you logged in).

As a TryJambCBT user, you have the right to:

• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data. You can initiate this from your profile page. Accounts are deactivated immediately and permanently deleted within 7 working days.
• Opt-out of marketing emails — click "Unsubscribe" in any email we send, or contact us directly
• Data portability — request an export of your data in a readable format

9 Children's Privacy

TryJambCBT is designed for JAMB UTME candidates, the majority of whom are between 16 and 25 years old. We recognise that some users may be under 18.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe your child has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete that information.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their children's online activity and review this Privacy Policy with them.

TryJambCBT may contain links to third-party websites and services, including:

• 1App — for payment processing
• Google Play Store — for our Android app download
• Tutorial centre websites — linked from our directory
